BREATHWORK
The power of breath: We breathe around 25 000 times a day yet many of us do not do it very well. With little bit of practise, we can not only access more of our respiratory system but also hack into our nervous and immune systems.
Breathwork therapy is known to benefit people experiencing issues such as:
Stress
Anxiety
Grief
Phobias
Panic Attacks
Depression
Insomnia
Addictions
Eating disorders
Recovery Facilitation
Asthma
Apnoea
PTSD
ABOUT
Anna’s story
I’m a teacher and lifelong student of breathwork, deeply curious about cultivating a wise relationship between mind and body to support emotional and physical wellbeing.
I grew up in a remote village in Finnish Lapland before studying biotechnology in Helsinki. In my early 20s, I was scouted as a model and what began as a one-month trip to Paris became an eight-year journey working around the world. Living without a home base in fast-paced cities and a competitive industry taught me resilience and ultimately how to find a sense of home within myself. During this time, I developed a deep interest in psychology, yoga, and meditation.
A few years ago, after surviving an unprovoked assault, my anxiety and PTSD intensified and led me to breathwork. The impact was profound and immediate—I knew I had found my calling. Through breathwork, I began regulating my nervous system, releasing long-held emotional patterns, and restoring my energy. I’ve since studied multiple modalities, including Conscious Connected Breathwork, Buteyko, and Biodynamic Breathwork, and believe in an integrated approach combining functional breathing, nervous system regulation, and deep healing practices.
Conscious connected breathwork works on three levels
Physical
Breathing efficiently affects multiple systems in our body - autonomic nervous system, brain, lymphatic and endocrine system. Efficient breathing is a tool to increase eneroy levels, detoxification, strengthen the immune system and improve metabolism and digestion.
-
Correcting inefficient breathing patterns leads to increased oxygen saturation on cellular level. As cells get a change to top up with oxygen, they work more efficiently.
-
70 % of our toxins are released by breathing. Optimized breathing facilitates movement of lymph through the bloodstream and increases the elimination of toxins.
-
Breathwork has a positive effect on the body by lowering cortisol levels and blood pressure, improving autonomic response to physical and mental stress and improving arterial blood flow.
Emotional
Breath is a vehicle by which we process emotional energy. With breathwork we can access and clear emotions stored in our bodies and work through the conditioning of the mind, helping us to move forward in life with clarity, joy and ease.
-
Breathwork helps to balance sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of our nervous system and creates more space around so called negative emotions.
-
Breathwork helps to clear emotional energy stuck in the body and works through shame and traumatic memories stored in cellular memory.
-
Breath is directly linked to your nervous system. By calming our nervous system, we can also calm our mind and quieten negative thinking patterns.
Cognitive
Breath is the bridge between conscious and subconscious. Breathing in a connected manner causes shifts in our physio-logy and allows us to explore altered states of consciousness. Breathwork is powerful method of deeper self-exploration.
-
Breath techniques can be used to boost noradrenalin production which leads to increased focus and reduced emotional reactivity.
-
Breath is a bridge between our conscious and unconscious. Breathing in a connected manner helps to start a dialogue between the less known aspects of ourselves.
-
By balancing autonomic nervous system and improving our connection with ourselves we access the flow state easier and get the creative juices flowing.
